The Los Angeles Zoo is committed to serve the community by inspiring an appreciation of wildlife through exhibits and education. Situated on 80 acres, each year 1.5 million visitors pass through the gates for recreation and discovery.
Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 2 to 12

Inspiring Good Stewardship of Planet Earth
![]() | Conservation is made easy at the LA Zoo where everything from paper, cardboard, beverage containers, animal waste, green waste, wood, and metal are recycled. Plus shoppers can "think green" in the Zoo's retail shops where they will find eco-friendly products like recycled metal sculptures, organic cotton T's, endangered species chocolate and Elephant Poo Poo paper. (It is what it sounds like). 100% recycled products with a portion of the proceeds supporting elephant conservation. In the Zoos cafes, you'll find energy efficient equipment, recycled napkins, biodegradable plastics and shade grown (organic) coffees. Plus the educational department provides classes, special programs and summer camps reaching nearly 500,000 children annually with conservation messages. |
The Los Angeles Zoo & Bontanical Gardens
![]() | A fun-filled educational adventure for the entire family. Visitors can view more than 1,200 animals representing 370 different species. Highlights include Dragons of Komodo with the world's largest lizard, Winnick Family Children's Zoo and contact area, Red Ape Rain Forest, Chimpanzees of Mahale Mountains and zoo favorites including koalas, lions, tigers, giraffes, hippos, and rhinos. Opening May 3, enjoy over 25 species of spiders in the new Spider City exhibit, including black widows, brown recluse and tarantulas with an 11-inch legspan. Plus the Zoo's Botanical collection is comprised of over 7,400 plants, making the Los Angeles Zoo a true urban oasis. |
